FREE DOWNLOAD: Handle That - Man In Charge

Man In Charge (of Celsius Electronics and Tree City) is a double threat, with the ability to not only bang out ill beats at will, but the talent to rip the track with lyrics often described as "ahead of his time."  On Handle That, he does both, bringing you smooth hip-hop production and infectious flows.

This is the second installment of Grab Bag Vol. 1, a series of random singles we will release for free download.

3. CLASSIC MIXTAPES: EPISODE I - Craig G

So, I got the greatest Christmas gift of all time... my uncle gave me a two boxes full of tape cassettes, all of them 90s hip hop mixtapes from NYC.  I'm in the process of transferring them from analog to digital, so I figured it'd be cool to drop a nice little sample.  This is the first in a series.

This is only the beginning!

This week's post (1/4/2009):

1. WELCOME
2. TREE CITY - BLACK TREES
3. VERSEATYLE - NovEmbers 2008 DEMO
4. CELSIUS ELECTRONICS - ALIEN KINGS FT. DJ CATACLYSMIC
---------------->

1. WELCOME

Hello and welcome to the Branch Out Collective blog site.  This has been newly created to disseminate the latest hot shit from Branch Out.  Come here for info and hot releases from some of the freshest minds in the hip hop scene, from mixtapes to albums and show info to personal blogs.

This is the home of Tree City, Celsius Electronics, Soto, and Ant the Champ!

To kick things off right, we'll begin by filling you in on what's been happening recently.

2. TREE CITY - BLACK TREES

In December, TREE CITY issued their first full-length release, Black Trees Mixtape, a collaboration with the legendary Black Milk (not really a collaboration, more of a consent from Black Milk to use beats from "Music From The Purple Tape").

Black Trees has received very positive reviews, such as the rapreviews.com 8/10 it scored for lyricism.

The mixtape is FREE and can be downloaded by clicking HERE.  Big shout outs to Andre for the album art.

As if the mixtape wasn't dope enough, Tree City got busy and put together a music video for Headnod Gospel, the lead off track to Black Trees:

Finally, don't forget to check out the exclusive interview with General P, Cheeks, DJ Cataclysmic, and Man In Charge on the American Music Channel:

3. VERSEATYLE - NovEmbers 2008 BEAT DEMO

Verseatyle released his NovEmbers 2008 BEAT DEMO this past fall, which includes 4 tracks of soulful awesomeness.  Verseatyle displays his versatility (I had to) on the 1s and 2s, giving you a few beats to get your flow on.

4. CELSIUS ELECTRONICS - ALIEN KINGS FT. DJ CATACLYSMIC

As Celsius Electronics prepares to release their debut album, Mundai, they have been releasing little gems here and there.  Check out the innovative video for their first single, Alien Kings, featuring DJ Cataclysmic.
